Burials At Sea

"Eternity begins and ends with the ocean's tide."
-unknown author

The scattering of a loved one’s ashes at sea is a timeless tradition.  The beauty and power, the peace and tranquility of the waters off Waikīkī make it an idyllic final resting place.

“I didn’t feel like I was saying goodbye but rather celebrating my dad’s life.”
-Barbara M.

“This was the best and most beautiful way to say goodbye.     I know my mom is happy.”
- Steven D.
Here at Waikīkī Beach Services, we offer families a respectful and unique way to say goodbye to a loved one.  We understand that the passing of a loved one is difficult and sometimes unexpected.

With the shadow of Diamond Head behind and the horizon in the distance, our hope is that you find solace in the peaceful waters and in the beauty of the surroundings.

After paddling out into the calm waters of Waik
īkī aboard one of our outrigger canoes, we will lay your loved one to rest.  A traditional Hawaiian blessing will be given as a final send off, and, if possible, the canoe will surf a wave into shore as a way to celebrate and honor the beauty of life.

Flowers and lei (you may choose to have them included or bring your own) are also placed into the ocean.

If you would like to inquire about a burial-at-sea ceremony, please contact us.
