Thrilling Outrigger Canoe Rides on Waikīkī Beaches Stunning Shores!
Outrigger canoe surfing is an excellent alternative for those seeking an authentic Hawaiian water activity without engaging in a surf lesson. This activity provides an opportunity to surf waves on an outrigger canoe, which has a long-standing history in Hawaiian culture. Waikīkī Beach is the only location where this experience can be enjoyed. Outrigger canoeing offers a thrilling ride that showcases the beauty of the ocean and the Hawaiian coastline in a unique way.
Outrigger canoe charters is one of the safest ways to travel the ocean and one of the only ocean vessels NOT required by the U.S. Coast Guard to carry life jackets. People ages 5+ and of all abilities can participate in this activity, which makes it ideal for families and large groups. Experience the thrill of flying over the waves outrigger canoeing in Oahu!
*Minimum of 3 people per booking. If you have less than 3 people in your party, you can still ride and paddle on the canoe. Please select the 3 pax option and we will supply staff members to assist with paddling. Or meet us in person when you are here to join our waitlist!
**Safety is our utmost priority; please note that varying weather and/or surf conditions may influence our staff to reduce the passenger load per canoe.
What Makes An Outrigger Canoe?

- Outrigger Canoe Surfing: Maximum of 6 participants (up to 4 paddlers and 2 riders). Minimum of 3 participants needed.
- One-Hour Canoe Charter: Maximum of 6 riders. No minimum number of riders required.

- Catch and surf THREE waves on the canoe.
- Up to 6 people per party/booking (4 paddlers + 2 riders). Minimum of 3 participants. Please see FAQ section if you have less than 3 in your party.
- Length: allow 30 – 60 minutes for canoe surfing; canoe ride length will depend on ocean conditions and wave frequency.
- Ages 5+ welcome – parent or guardian must be present to hold the child during the ride and must provide own lifejacket or floatation device.
- Life jackets for adults are available upon request.
- All swimming and paddling abilities welcome.
- Guests with more than 6 people in their party can choose to book back-to-back canoe rides.
- The canoe operates under the guidance of two certified Canoe Captains who assist guests with paddling and navigating through the surf. Your group will paddle out to the surf break and get in the lineup to catch some waves.
- Photos will be taken during the lesson and are available for purchase. (*There may be certain instances where photos are unavailable due to forces outside our control. Photographers will try to get at least 10 water shots of each participant during a lesson or canoe ride).

- Charter the canoe for one hour.
- Up to 6 people per canoe. No minimum number of participants.
- Charters are available between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Please note that beginning January 1, 2024, a $1 fee will be collected for each surf, SUP, or canoe ride participant. This fee is for the OSF, or Ocean Stewardship Fund, created by the State of Hawaiʻi and enforced by the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
